VPN Configuration for MAC OS 10.2 Jaguar
Setting up PublicVPN access under Mac OS X 10.2 is simple. The following instructions go step–by–step through the creation process.
System Requirements
Before setting up the VPN, be sure your installation is up–to–date by running Software Update. At the time of this writing the latest Mac OS X version was 10.2.8.
Open Internet Connect
First, open the ‘Applications’ folder by going to the Finder and choosing “New Finder Window” from the “File” menu. Click on the ”Applications” icon, then scroll down until you see the “Internet Connect” icon.
Double–click on the “Internet Connect” icon. You should see a window like the one below. Your ‘Network’ and ‘Base Station ID’ will probably be different.
Create a New VPN Connection
Next, go to the ‘File’ menu and select “New VPN Connection Window.”
You should see a the following screen. Click ‘Continue.’
Set the Connection Information
The next screen will look like this. Enter the information as shown. Click Connect.
That’s it! You’re done!
When you want to connect to vpngw.umd.umich.edu, just double–click on “Internet Connect” and click the ‘Connect’ button.
