Creating a Signature file for Thunderbird
To add a signature to the bottom of email, you must first create the file using NVU software, which is part of the ITS image.
1. Go to Start in the taskbar of your computer.
2. Select Programs
3. Select Applications
4. Select NVU
5. NVU will open.
6. Type your information in the white part of the screen.
7. If you wish to use an image, insert the image on the last line of the your information.
a. Click Insert on the main menu.
b. Select Image
c. A box will open, which will allow you to browse for the image you wish to use.
d. Once you've selected the image, Click OK.
e. The image will appear below your signature.
8. Now that the signature has been created, Go to File on the Main Menu.
9. Select Save As
10.Save the file on your Desktop.
Making Changes to an Email Signature
1. Open NVU
2. When the program opens, go to File on the Main Menu.
3. Click Open
4. Select the file you wish to change.
5. Click OK.
6. Once the file appears on the screen, make the necessary changes.
7. Click Save on the menu bar.
Adding a signature to Thunderbird
1. Open Thunderbird mail.
2. Select Tools on the Main Menu.
3. Select Account Settings.
4. The Accounts Setting box will open.
a. In the middle of the screen you will see "Attach this Signature", check the box.
b. Select the Choose box to find the file you wish to use.
c. The Choose a File box will open, select the file.
d. Click OK.
e. The file will appear.
5. Click OK at the bottom of the Accounts Settings screen and the file will appear at the bottom of your emails.
