ITS recommends Mozilla for use as your Internet browser and email application. This award winning open-source software offers innovative and powerful features such as tabbed browsing (which lets you view multiple pages in one window), pop-up blocking and advanced privacy and security controls. Their enterprise-grade email software provides greater protection from viruses that affect other email clients. It also offers sophisticated and adaptive junk-mail controls which let you “train” it to recognize and block annoying spam mail. Mozilla is versatile, working equally well on a variety of computing platforms such as Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. It is included in the ITS standard image used on supported staff PCs and machines in the ITS computer labs. It can also be downloaded for free to any desktop computer at home or in your office.
