UMCE Allocations
UMCE Account Allocations are required for subscription or “paid for” services provided by the University of Michigan, such as access to University-wide Confer U, access to large statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, S+ and BMDP on the Ann Arbor computer systems, or other services that are not provided by the UM-Dearborn Campus. A uniqname is required before a UMCE Account Allocation can be set up.
Faculty UMCE Account Allocations are currently provided free of charge. Faculty must send an email to their Dean to request a UMCE Allocation, including their uniqname and the amount required in the message. When approved, the Dean will forward the email to ITS for processing. Allocations for faculty are generally set up within 1-2 business days following receipt of the email by ITS.
Staff UMCE Account Allocations must be paid for through funding provided by the staff member’s department. An email authorizing funding and including the staff member’s uniqname and Chartfield information must be forwarded to ITS for processing.
Student UMCE Account Allocations must be paid for in advance by the requesting student. Application forms can be obtained in the ITS Accounts Office. Students are required to make payment of at least $25 to the Dearborn Cashier’s Office. The receipt of payment and application must be returned to ITS for processing.
Both Staff and Student UMCE Account Allocations are processed through ITD Accounts Office in Ann Arbor and generally take 2-3 business days once ITS has received the requests.
